J & K Against the World This poster was made to show a depiction of what the actual comic is generally about. I had to show that the situation in the comic is a post apocalyptic and surrounds two characters that are struggling to survive. Although it takes place in a depressing world, I wanted to portray the comedy in the comic by making the characters very innocent and cartoon like. I wanted people to be able to see the personalities of the main characters in just one glimpse. That's what i tried to achieve.
Reflection Painting
Breaking Free In this painting I had to portray a life situation through an unrealistic way. Although the character in the painting is non-existent, he is the emotions that someone feels at one point in their life or another. He is stuck, he is a prisoner to his own demons, he can see the light but he just can't reach it, he is lost in the darkness and only he can break himself free.
In situations as dark as this, the only one who can save you is you. You have have to want to get better. You can't rely on anyone else to fix you. That is what I wanted to portray in this piece. Tarot Cards
The Star
The Lovers Strength Death These are the four cards I chose to create my own interpretation for my project. I had to find the mean to me that each one had and interpret it to the viewer. for the star card shows the soft blue light of a star shining beyond the shadow of the dark clouds showing a renewed sense of strength and faith in a new situation life brings you. The lovers card show two trees intertwined with each other creating a centered hear-like fruit beard by both of the trees not just one. my take on the classic ideology of love between two people. The strength card is of a fallen angel who has had her wings clipped. She may have lost the support of so many but she hasn't given up. This is the point I wanted to get across with this card. Lastly the death card shows the metaphorical hour glass intertwined in heart strings. Showing that time is running out and another door will soon open up a new chapter in ones life. |

This paper dress opened many doors for me to explore a whole new world for me.
